  • Sandbags

Using sandbags and layering tarp materials, create a temporary covering that will stand up to weather conditions. If you must use fasteners, use cap nails and attach them to the fascia or other areas where penetrations won’t damage shingles, decking, or metal sheeting. Remember, don’t add more holes to the roof surface.

  • Tie downs

Using ropes and heavy, or fixed, items, tie down edges of coverings to create a cover that doesn’t need to be nailed or attached to the structure. We’ve used cinder blocks, sandbags, nearby trees, and other heavy objects that keep the covering tight and flush with the roofline. Avoid gaps or flaps that will allow wind to blow in and billow your roof covering.
